MAN vereinbart Service-Vertrag mit T-Systems und IBM - Provider übernehmen ab Juli 2009 Dienste für IT und Telekommunikation / MAN agrees service contract with T-Systems and IBM

Die MAN AG hat mit T-Systems und IBM Deutschland eine Vereinbarung unterzeichnet mit der ab 01. Juli 2009 Services rund um Rechenzentren, Bürokommunikation und Netzwerke von der MAN IT Services GmbH auf diese beiden ITK-Unternehmen übergehen. IBM wird künftig dezentrale Services leisten, also Dienste rund um Arbeitsplatz oder PC. T-Systems wird für zentrale Services wie Netzwerke und Rechenzentren zuständig sein. Die Serviceverträge gelten jeweils für sieben Jahre.
Die gesamte Partner-Lösung wurde gemeinsam und in enger Abstimmung mit dem Betriebsrat gefunden. Zentrale Punkte sind dabei die Sicherung der rund 320 Arbeitsplätze in Deutschland und Österreich sowie eine Wahlmöglichkeit, wonach die Mitarbeiter zwischen den neuen Partnern und dem Verbleib bei MAN wählen können.
"Die Unternehmensprozesse und die IT Anwendungen bleiben auch weiterhin in der Verantwortung von MAN. Die Infrastrukturdienstleistungen gehören aber nicht zu unserem Kerngeschäft. Diese Dienstleistungen lassen sich industrialisiert, in hoher Qualität und günstiger am Markt einkaufen", erklärte Joachim Dürr, Senior Vice President Corporate Development der MAN AG. Die IT-Infrastruktur wird damit von Partnern betreut, die darin ihre Kernkompetenz und langjähriges internationales Know-how haben. Erforderliche Investitionen tragen künftig die Provider, die dies effizienter und zielgerichteter tun können, als es für MAN möglich wäre. Die Kapazitäten können künftig flexibel an den Geschäftsverlauf von MAN angepasst werden. So sehen die Verträge vor, dass die Betriebskosten über die Gesamtlaufzeit deutlich sinken. Gleichzeitig werden die Betriebsrisiken minimiert.
T-Systems setzt auf Standort München T-Systems wird die Rechenzentren der MAN Gruppe und das Unternehmens¬netzwerk betreiben; das Weitverkehrsnetz verbindet 400 Standorte in 23 Ländern. Die Großkundentochter der Deutschen Telekom hat den Auftrag, die IT-Infrastruktur zu konsolidieren. Dafür überführt der Dienstleister alle Services in zwei eigene Hochsicherheitsrechenzentren in München. In Zukunft wird die MAN Gruppe dann alle IT-Services von hier aus nach Bedarf beziehen.
Mit den Dynamic Services von T-Systems passen sich Bandbreite, Rechenleistungen oder Datenspeicherplatz dem Geschäftsverlauf von MAN an. "Genauso wichtig war, dass wir am Standort München zwei moderne Rechenzentren haben, in denen die ehemaligen Mitarbeiter der MAN IT-Services weiterarbeiten können", sagt T-Systems-Chef Reinhard Clemens. "Mit diesem Auftrag untermauern wir unsere Position im Automobil- und Nutzfahrzeugsektor."
Internationale IT-Services für MAN Mitarbeiter von IBM Deutschland IBM Deutschland wird im Rahmen des Outsourcings international sämtliche Services rund um den Arbeitsplatz der MAN-Mitarbeiter zunächst in 17 Ländern übernehmen und optimieren. Dazu gehören neben der Ausstattung und Wartung aller Arbeitsplatzrechner und dazugehöriger Komponenten inklusive Software, die Telekommunikation, die dezentralen IT-Netzwerke, die Email-Infrastruktur sowie weitere zentrale Dienste. IBM nutzt dafür einen professionellen, mehrsprachigen IT-Helpdesk in Erfurt.

MAN AG has signed an agreement with T-Systems and IBM Germany which will see all computer center, office communication and network services pass from MAN IT Services GmbH to these two ICT companies on July 1, 2009. IBM will provide the local services, i.e. workstation and PC services, while T-Systems will be responsible for central services, such as networks and computer centers. The service contracts are each valid for seven years.
The entire partner solution was found together with the Works Council, which was closely consulted about the matter. The solution mainly covers the security of some 320 jobs in Germany and Austria as well as an option allowing employees to choose whether they join the new partners or stay with MAN.
"MAN will still be responsible for the company processes and IT applications but infrastructure services are not part of our core business. These services can be bought on the market at a more favorable price, in a high-quality industrialized form," explained Joachim Dürr, Senior Vice President, Corporate Development at MAN AG. This move means that our IT infrastructure will be managed by partners with the core competencies and years of international expertise in this area. Any investments necessary in the future will be borne by the providers themselves, who can do this more efficiently and purposefully than MAN could. It will now be possible for different types of capacity to be flexibly adapted to MAN's business needs. The contracts provide for a considerable (deutliche) reduction in operating costs over the entire term which minimizes operating risks at the same time.
T-Systems to rely on Munich site T-Systems will run the MAN Group's computer centers and the Company network with the Wide Area Net connecting 400 locations in 23 countries. Deutsche Telekom's corporate-customer subsidiary has been instructed to consolidate the IT infrastructure. To do so, the service provider will transfer all services to two of its own high security computer centers in Munich. The MAN Group will then procure all of its IT services from here in the future. Thanks to T-Systems' Dynamic Services, bandwidth, system performance and data storage capacity will be adapted to MAN's business needs. "The two state-of-the-art computer centers in Munich, at which former employees of MAN IT-Services can continue to work played just as important a role," said T-Systems boss Reinhard Clemens. "Securing this contract enables us to strengthen our position in the automotive and commercial vehicle sector."
International IT services from IBM Germany for MAN employees IBM Germany will take over all international services for the workstations of MAN employees in 17 countries to begin with and then optimize them as part of the outsourcing move. In addition to equipping and maintaining all workstation computers and related components, including software, this will encompass telecommunications, local IT networks, the e-mail infrastructure and other central services. IBM will also use a professional, multilingual IT helpdesk in Erfurt for this purpose. "With IBM's support, MAN's employees will benefit from an optimum IT infrastructure which will allow them to focus on their core business even more. For MAN this means that business processes are accelerated while cutting costs at the same time and for the IT experts who switch to IBM as part of the outsourcing contract, this means good career prospects," emphasized Michael Diemer, Director of IBM Deutschland GmbH and General Manager of IBM Global Technology Services in Germany.
